You can complete and enliven the scene by giving life to the two hundred or so words of the book. Enlarge or shrink the elements, change their color, drop the night, accelerate or slow down the speed of animals and vehicles, listen to the words or a guitar tune ... an infinite number of possibilities allow the child for create crazy and fantastic worlds, each time unique, while learning about writing and reading. With Anouck Boisrobert we made a larger book than previously, with a story full of surprises and games of shapes. All the illustrations are made from 10 geometric shapes, transformed and combined by the movements of the pop-up.

Our third pop-up book published by helium has for theme the ocean. With Anouck Boisrobert, we found a pop-up system that lifts a paper sea in the middle of the book. Doing so, we represent the upper and lower side of 6 different marine landscapes. A crowded harbor, iced transparent icebergs, whales at sea, a violent storm and finally the idyllic lagoon with thousands of colorful fishes.

The city as a living body that is born, develops and differentiate its buildings and functions: from the very first nucleus (an isolated church among the trees in the countryside) to the huge metropolis crowded with streets, pylons, factories and stations. Some urban and landscape elements remain constant references for the growth of the city, while others simply disappear and make place to new ones. What lasts is the steady stream of occasions and possibilities which, in the book just like in reality, remain unpredictable till the moment of turning the page. This accordion book illustrate one by one the stanzas of the famous poem by Paul Eluard. Page after page, the reader gradually discover the details of a landscape. The horizon widens, showing a photo of Resistance fighters during World War II - during which the poem was published. On the back of the pages, a biographical text of the author and a historical note situates the text in context. This book has been designed with Anouck Boisrobert.
